Diversified industrial services provider, Paladio Group (PDO) on Monday said its wholly owned subsidiary, Decmil Australia Pty Ltd, has been awarded a contract to build a portion of the construction camp for Woodside Energy's Pluto project worth $11 million.

The company said the project is to start immediately with completion expected within the next five months.

Woodsite's Pluto gas field is located off the coast of Western Australia and is on schedule to be developed as Western Australia's first LNG project since the North West Shelf began production in the 1980s. First LNG is scheduled to be produced in late 2010.

The work awarded to Decmil forms part of the early stages for the Pluto project and Decmil has pre-qualified to tender for other civil packages.

"This is a positive start to calendar 2008 for Decmil which is experiencing tendering activities at an all time high," Paladio's managing director, Mr Dick Wright said.

"Also, all of Paladio's other operating subsidiaries are experiencing buoyant tendering activities which have carried over from the last quarter of calendar 2007. We are therefore anticipating to win further orders in the near future and growing our order book," Wright said.

Shares in PDO added 4.5 cents or 8.4% to 58 cents.
