OpenLearning (ASX: OLL) is set to enhance its offerings through the acquisition of Employability Advantage’s business and associated assets from the Education Centre of Australia (ECA) group. The deal, valued at $1, focuses on integrating digital work-readiness content and experiential learning programs into OpenLearning’s existing SaaS platform. While the transferred assets, primarily digital media accounts, domain names, and digital content, are considered immaterial in standalone commercial value, OpenLearning emphasizes the strategic fit and opportunity to enhance its services.
CEO Adam Brimo highlighted the acquisition’s role in expanding the range of digital content and services OpenLearning delivers. Employability Advantage’s programs, focusing on skills diagnostics, resume generators, interview simulators, and career preparation short courses, will now be delivered through OpenLearning’s learning management system. This aims to demonstrate new use cases for customers and support institutions in preparing learners for the workforce. Loren D’Souza, Head of Operations at Employability Advantage, will join OpenLearning as an employee. The ASX has granted OpenLearning a waiver, allowing the acquisition to proceed without shareholder approval.
