US sharemarkets eased on Friday, dragged down by weakness in the healthcare sector. Six of the 11 major S&P500 sectors were lower. Federal Reserve presidents from St Louis and Kansas City indicated support for a rate hike in December.
At the close, the Dow Jones index was down by 36 points or 0.2%. The S&P 500 index lost 0.2% while the Nasdaq eased by 12.5 points or 0.2%. Over the week the Dow rose by 0.1%, the S&P 500 gained 0.8% and the Nasdaq rose by 1.6%.
