IBA Health Signs $14million Deal With HSP

IBA Health Group Australia's largest listed specialist information technology company, announced today that it has signed a $14 million agreement with Healthscope

Under a 7.5 year agreement, IBA will provide Healthsope's 45 medical and surgical hospitals with a licence for IBA's hospital information solutions and an ongoing support and services facility.

"This agreement ratifies our work with Healthscope as being more than just a provider of IT services," said IBA Asia-Pacific CEO Steve Garrington.

"The agreement paves the way for Healthscope and IBA to further explore opportunities to optimise cost and revenue synergies throughout Healthsope's integrated delivery network," he said.

The agreement also provides IBA with the framework for licensing and implementation of additional IBA products.

The deal will provide Healthscope with the ability to standardise its core patient and clinical management systems, reducing systems management costs, and costs of delivering health information.

The companies will collaborate to develop and deploy electronic billing to Medicare Australia and point-of-care claiming to the health insurance funds across Healthsope's national network of hospitals and clinics."

By 12:15PM AEST, shares in IBA were trading up by 4.65% at 90 cents, while Healthscope lost 3 cents at $5.16.
