Atlas Pearls Ltd

The Atlas Pearls story began with a pilot pearling venture in Kupang in 1993. In 1998, the small team of passionate pioneers decided to relocate the farm infrastructure and oysters via boat to a larger site in the pristine waters of Raja Ampat, West Papua.

In 2000 the company completed its first sizeable harvest of 50,000 pearls and has gone on to open 5 more sites located in Alor, Lembata, Pungu, North Bali and Banubiru.

More than 25 years on, the company now employs more than 900 employees and prides itself on the diversity of culture, language and religion of its passionate team.

Production has continued to grow from 50,000 to more than 500,000 South Sea pearls. Continued research and development in the area of hatchery technology has been instrumental in this strong growth and ensures the business continues as a non-extractive and environmentally positive operation.
