The electrification of the global economy continues to gain momentum led by the electrical vehicle (EV) revolution. EV sales are expected to accelerate from around 9 per cent of the global car market in 2021 to almost 40 per cent by 2030. Coupled with increasing production of energy storage systems and smart devices, it follows that the demand for lithium-ion batteries will grow dramatically with some analysts tipping a 20-fold increase by 2050.

A significant increase in lithium and cobalt production will be required to satisfy this forecast demand requiring many new mines to come online.  Koba Resources strategy for growth is to establish dominant lithium and cobalt positions near growing markets in safe and stable, ESG-leading jurisdictions.
